Coach Questions
Answer: Documents should be used when you need to track the status of a document by athlete/member. If you simply need to provide access to a document to your general membership, you can upload the document using File Manager and share a link with members. |
Answer: From the Coach's Home page, select the team from the team list. On the Sessions tab, check the In Bulk check box then tap the Create Session button. The Create Sessions page will come up that allows you to create a series of sessions for a specified date range and days of the week. Click here to view a tutorial video. |
Answer: The rower must already be registered in iCrew. There are three ways to add a rower into a session. The first method is to go to the Check In page for the session, type their tile name into the Check-in member box and hit the Enter key as shown here where "bill s" is being added to the session. The second method is to use the "a"dd quick command function on the line-ups page as shown here where "bill s" is being added to the session. Either method will add a tile for the rower to the session. Once you do that, the rower will see the session listed on the My Attendance Plans session list on their home page. From there, they can access the line-ups page for that session. The third method is to double-click a * tile in the Line-ups page rower bullpen. Enter the rower's tile name and they will be added to the session. |
Answer: If you have a guest rower that is not registered in iCrew, you can use a * tile to add a tile for the person. Just double-click or tap the * tile and you'll be prompted to enter the person's name. If the person is registered in iCrew, a tile will be added to the bullpen for the person. |
Answer: The session lock flag is used to lock a regatta plan once the sign-up deadline has passed. There is no value in locking a practice session. In fact, you never want to lock a practice session before the session occurs because this blocks members from changing their attendance plans for the session. NOTE: This is different than a lock on the line-ups page which is discussed in another FAQ. |
Answer: Yes, a session's title and other data can be changed. Access the session and change the appropriate data on the session info page. You can even turn a regular practice into a regatta session. |
Answer: Just leave the line-ups page and that will unlock the session. If you come across a locked session and you know the other coach is not really updating the session, just click the Unlock button on the session info page. NOTE: If you access the line-ups page on your iPhone, leaving the page does not unlock the session, but the Unlock button can always be used to release the lock on the line-ups page. |
Member Questions
Answer: If you there are any days you know you'll be away and unable to attend practice, enter the date(s) on the My Dates Away tab on your home page. Sessions on any dates entered will not be shown on your My Attendance Plans tab. For an unexpected absence, like if you wake up one morning and you're sick, you can indicate that you'll not be attending that day's session from the My Attendance Plans tab by changing the Attending? toggle. When you toggle out of a session, your tile text will be shown as red for that session to let the coach know that you'll not be attending. |
Answer: Members of the same family should enter the same values in the Family Name and Family Key fields on their individual profiles. The Family Name can be a surname, email address, or whatever you choose. The Family Key can also be any random value. Just make sure all family members use the same values for both fields on their respective profiles. This will allow you to view document and fee payment records for all family members. You will see a link at the top of the My Documents and My Payments tabs on your home page after you set values in these fields. |

Answer: When attending a regatta as a new rower, the event/race names may not make sense. Typically, an event race name is made of these parts: gender, lightweight, boat size, sculling indicator, and coxswain indicator. The gender may be spelled out or abbreviated as M for men, W for women, or Mx for Mixed.> If an event is restricted to lightweight rowers only, you'll see Ltwt in the event name. The boat size is designated by the number of rowing seats in the boat, so 1, 2, 4, or 8. Sculling events are designated with an x following the boat size. If the event includes a coxswain, you'll see a + sign at the end of the event name. All singles, doubles, pair, and quad races are without coxswain. Here are a view examples: |
