To be a member of the Varsity Team, we require all rowers to have a USRowing membership and waiver. Waivers are needed in order to compete in USRowing-hosted and -sanctioned events, as well as to be covered by insurance that comes with the membership. A Basic Membership to USRowing is required for this waiver -- to sign up, go to https://membership.usrowing.org/individual/join.
The cost is $700 per rower for the spring season which includes regatta fees and all training sessions. Program registration also provides year-round membership in Megunticook Rowing, giving rowers access to club equipment and programs during the summer. The registration fee does not include travel and accommodations expenses associated with regattas. Our goal is to provide the opportunity of rowing to anyone who wishes to, no matter their age, skill level, background, or financial situation. Juniors - Boys Varsity - Spring 2026
The varsity rowing team is for experienced high school athletes grades 9-12 who want to row at a competitive level. Practices will be four afternoons and one morning per week. The team will travel to regattas in the New England area every weekend of the on-water season, with some opportunities for competition further away as well. The program’s focus is on technique enhancement, strength training, and competition. Rowers will have the opportunity to row in different size boats.
