Mid-Winter Break Camp 2025 - Mid-Winter Break Camp is designed to give athletes a jump-start to their spring season by getting on the water for five consecutive days of focused, high-feedback work. Each day will consist of two on-water sessions and one workshop session on land. Athletes will be assigned a camp training group based on their experience and profiency. They will have the opportuntiy to row in both small boats and team boats within their training group. The training focus will be divided between technical work to develop boat feel / rhythm and race-pace work with side-by-side racing. This camp is open to all PYR athletes, as well as athletes from other clubs.

Spring Learn to Row 2025 Monday and Wednesday - Our Learn to Row classes aim to teach athletes the basics of rowing while emphasizing how much fun this sport is. Athletes will learn the rowing stroke, how to set up their shell, maneuver, execute basic drills, and row continuously. They will also learn about the teamwork, communication, and focus required to have fun with rowing. At the conclusion of the program, athletes will have the option to join their age group for the remainder of the spring season.

At the conclusion of the program, athletes will have the option to join their age group for the remainder of the spring season.
Spring Middle School Gold 2025 (no space available) - The Middle School Gold Squad will continue developing athletes’ foundational skills and love of the sport with an additional element of competition preparation. Small boat and sculling work will be prioritized, along with team-building activities and land training that develops athletes’ general fitness and motor skills. Athletes will begin learning about how to train for competition, set goals, build race plans, and execute on race day. Competitions will include local regattas and scrimmages with opportunities to participate in two travel regattas. Racing will be primarily small boats and exclusively sculling.
Spring Middle School Green 2025 - The Middle School Green Squad will continue developing athletes’ foundational skills and love of the sport. This squad is perfect for athletes who are looking to gain more comfort and confidence in their rowing. Small boat and sculling work will be prioritized, along with team-building activities and land training that develops athletes’ general fitness and motor skills. There will also be opportunities for athletes to try out coxing.
U17 Gold Spring 2025 (no space available) - The U17 Gold spring season will introduce athletes to performance-oriented training as we work to develop our most competitive crews leading up to our regional and national championships. Training will include on-water technical and speed work, erg workouts, and strength training. Athletes will have the opportunity to compete in local scrimmages and regattas. Coaches will select a set number of athletes to compete at travel regattas such as Brentwood. Athletes must maintain a 90% attendance rate and complete up to 2 additional workouts each week, as directed by their coach, to be eligible for races.
U17 Green Spring 2025 - The spring season for U17 Green Squad will give athletes the opportunity to continue developing their on-water skills and test them out in fun, low-pressure race environments. The squad will participate in several local scrimmages and regattas, as well as at our regional championship in May. This is a great fit for any athletes doing another sport or extracurricular, who completed Learn to Row in 2023, and/or those who would like having flexibility in their weekly schedule.
U19 Green & Gold Spring 2025 - The U19 Squad is designed for athletes with previous rowing experience who want to train and compete for high-level performance and are prepared to manage the work-life balance of a student-athlete. This winter training block will focus on preparing the squad for spring racing. This will include an emphasis on 2k training, continued focus on strength training for power development, and on-water technical work which will expand into preliminary race lineup work.
